Spaceflight Museum

The International Spaceflight Museum hosts a series of exhibits and events about real-world space travel. Ride a rocket into space and explore the planets! Rockets and spacecraft from the past, present and future. More info at: ismuseum.org

------

Welcome to the International Spaceflight Museum! We are glad you are here. This museum was started in late 2005, and has been at the present location on Spaceport Alpha since early 2006. We added Spaceport Bravo in 2007, and now also have a "branch" in Kitely, and OpenSim grid, at ISMuseum. All of this was built by many volunteers, and paid for through generous contributions from virtual world "residents" both via our tip jars, and in larger direct grants.

While you are here, feel free to pick up copies of our guidebooks. Some are old, others are new, but all have useful information about the museum. Also, be sure to visit our gift shops, one near the Spaceport Alpha landing point (the domed building), and the other on the ground floor of the VAB on Spaceport Bravo. The ISM is operated by a US 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit charity, incorporated in Texas as ISMuseum. Also visit our website at http://ismuseum.org for more information.

We strive to create full-scale, accurate models of rockets and other spacecraft, and present astronomical information in an interactive, accessible way. Click on the signs near the exhibits to get notecards with details about the objects they represent.

What you see on the grounds of the museum is just the beginning. Also visit the "upper sim" for a tour of the solar system, beginning with the International Space Station at Low Earth Orbit!  To get there, either use the teleport machines or take a ride on the Titan/Gemini rocket just outside the "rocket ring".

There is a lot to see, so we hope you will return again and again to see everything we have built here. And if you are interested in joining our group, please contact one of the group directors for more information.  But most of all, enjoy your visit! Thank you for coming to see us.
